NEW LABORATORY IN MOUNT WELLINGTON AWARDED MPI PERMIT

Laboratory

IN NEW ZEALAND, SGS HAS INVESTED IN NEW FACILITIES AND RENEWED THE MPI PERMIT FOR ITS AGRICULTURE LABORATORY, AS PART OF A MOVE TO NEW PREMISES IN MT. WELLINGTON, AUCKLAND, IN EARLY 2016.

Officially opened in February by Malcolm Reid, SGS’s Chief Operating Officer for the South East Asia Pacific region, this new laboratory offers a wide range of services to the agriculture industry, including:

  1. Soil, water, timber and environmental testing
  2. Heavy metals testing for clients with contaminated sites
  3. Quality parameters on grains, feed and fertilizers

Accredited for many feed materials tests, this laboratory also has the capability to perform an extensive range of other qualitative and quantitative analyses on a non-accredited basis. In addition, the staff have extensive custom method development capabilities and can design testing regimes to suit customer requirements. This includes instrumental method development.

In addition to the new premises, our New Zealand operation has also recently renewed its Permit to Import Restricted Biological Products of Animal Origin from the country’s Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI Permit). This permit allows us to receive and store imported sample material at the new laboratory prior to testing, thereby extending the reach of our services to clients overseas.

Our laboratory offers timely and efficient testing services to agriculture clients across the region, helping to ensure quality and regulatory compliance. Establishing this laboratory at Mt. Wellington means that we are strategically placed closer to areas of agricultural and industrial activity and perfectly situated to serve local markets.
